Point of Sale UI Extension
This extension lets you
(A) Search for customer bookings by ID or Name
(B) Check in customers with bookings
(C) Add this booking to the cart on POS. This allows you to (1) Collect payment through POS when they arrive, including tips and (2) add additional items to cart they may want to purchase (ie. Shampoo after a Salon Appointment) in one cart.

Open your Shopify Point of Sale App
2. Click "Add Tile"
3. Click App > Easy Appointment Booking Point of Sale

4. Search for customers by Booking ID or Name and check them in
5. Click Check In to check them in. This is a toggle that lets you track to see who has been checked in.

6. Click Add to Cart when ready to pay. This adds the corresponding product and the customer to the cart making it super easy to check out!

The alternative to the extension is using POS Link. This requires authentication to your Shopify Admin to use, so not as ideal for delegating to staff. Here's how it compares

Here's how to set this up:
Open your Point of Sale App, Click "Add Tile"
Click Link > Enter the URL
Enter your store URL followed by "admin/apps/digital-appointments"
For example, if my store is ray.myshopify.com, I would enter ray.myshopify.com/admin/apps/digital-appointments
Name is something you would recognize as you use your POS, like EAB
Note: you may have to login to your account for the first time on this setup, but afterwards it will be clickable without requiring a login.
Now you can open up the app to take and manage bookings!

Taking Payments on POS
At this time, payments taken through Shopify POS are full payments only.
The typical flow looks like this:
The customer makes the booking (often as a $0 booking if youโre collecting payment in person)
When they arrive, you open Shopify POS
Add the booking/product to the cart
Collect the full payment directly through POS
โ ๏ธ Deposits are not supported through POS at this time.
If you are using deposits, we recommend collecting the remaining balance via the Team Portal instead.
Frequently Asked Questions
1. Do draft orders appear in POS?
No. Draft orders do not appear in POS at this time due to a Shopify limitation.
2. What happens when I check in a customer from POS?
Checking in a customer from POS will update the check-in status on the booking inside the Easy Appointment Booking app. This helps keep your booking records in sync.
3. What happens when I add a booking to the cart from POS?
When you add a booking to the cart from POS, it:
Adds the correct product
Associate it with the customer
Allows you to quickly proceed with payment
This is designed to save time at checkout.
4. Are deposits supported in POS?
No, deposits are not supported through POS at this time.
If a booking was made with a deposit, we recommend:
Using the Team Portal to collect the remaining balance
Or collecting payment outside of the POS, depending on your workflow
