You've signed up for PX360 and now it's time to give your team a head start using the system. Project creation, budgeting, task planning, etc. all require certain settings to be completed in order for your team to begin using PX360 for project management. Let's review those and apply these settings to your organisation and team needs.
Included in this guide:
User Management
Adding Users during account setup allows your team to create Projects and assign Tasks immediately upon using PX360. It simplifies their training with the system and lets them start quickly managing projects.
Users will be people who work for your company, whether employees or contractors, who will need access to the PX360 system for areas like project creation, budget management, timesheet entry, etc. The Roles and Permissions are outlined so you can choose the correct access for every user in your account. PX360 allows for as many users as you need at no extra cost to you.
Note: Adding all users that work across your projects at hourly rates can be a great way to track hourly progress both for employees and contractors during Cost Plus projects. |
Company
The Company Information section has information that will be client-facing such as your business name and contact information. You can also enter invoice settings here like net due dates and time zones, along with naming and numbering conventions that are consistent with your current workflow.
Cost Centre
Creating Cost Centres inside PX360 is a critical step as there are many features that rely on Cost Centre attribution. For example,
Project creation
Task management
Budget management
Progress claims
Invoicing
Cashflow management
They are also important for effective tracking, project labour, and supplier cost allocations. PX360 syncs with Xero to make Cost Centre setup simple for you and your team.
Cost Centres are designed to be universal across all projects within PX360 and Xero, resulting in the ability to have fewer Cost Centres overall and simplify your operations.
We commonly see between 20-30 Cost Centres for an organisation, and we recommend a maximum of 50. This removes the need for staff to memorize and understand hundreds of account codes.
Payroll
Setting up your PX360 payroll calendars to sync with Xero will also infinitely simplify your team's ability to get started.

Integration
PX360 and Xero are tied closely together as a construction business powerhouse. We highly recommend integrating your Xero account during Account Creation.
If you do not already have a Xero account, you can sign up for one here.
To connect your Xero account after account creation, navigate to the Integrations tab in Settings.
Subscription
PX360 offers a 30-day free trial, after which a subscription must be purchased to continue using the app. The subscription you choose will depend on the number of concurrent active projects your business has.
