FAQs:

Why is PX360 focused on residential project management software?

How much does it cost? How does pricing work?

  • We charge based on projects, not users. This allows for a wide community of building resources (employees, sub-contractors, clients, etc.) to collaborate on the work to be done.

  • Check out our pricing on the PX360 website.

How do I sign up for a PX360 account?

What's involved in setting up a project?

  • Project setups include entry of contract information, the project team, documentation, scheduling, budgets, progress claim schedules, and more.

  • This article walks you through creating a project in PX360.

How does the Xero integration work?

Xero is easy-to-use online accounting software that's designed specifically for small businesses. PX360 manages your projects while Xero manages your accounts. The integration syncs project costs, invoices, and labour times via timesheeting.

The timesheeting in PX360 can be automatically exported to Xero for payroll payments. PX360 and Xero together is a construction business powerhouse enabling detailed budget tracking, reporting, increased profits, and better cashflow.

Can I control what different staff roles can see, like site foremen and labourers?

  • Yes. PX360 has several user levels with varying permissions to allow you to control a user's access level inside your account.

Are there advantages of PX360 for accountants and bookkeepers?

  • Yes. Project costs, work orders, invoices, timesheets, etc. are all synced inside Xero, making the accountant or bookkeeper's life simpler and easier, and offering cost savings to any business using our system.

Do you have a phone app and what does it do?

  • Yes. There is a free phone app for all users. It's available for iPhone/iPad or Android devices and is a job site staff member's best friend. Users can quickly log time worked, submit timesheets, upload site photos, and manage and complete tasks.

How do we use existing cost codes?

  • Moving from another project management software where a large number of account codes (e.g. 40 or more) can make a much more complicated system to manage. PX360 uses a more defined cost centre approach which relates to how many detailed construction quotes trade headings are making. Within each of these cost centres, PX360 gives unlimited ability to have as many tasks as you need. This allows for smaller code lists and greater organisational efficiency by all.

How do we manage current projects underway?

  • PX360 can pull Xero information from past and current projects using Project Codes. Once that is synced, you can enter additional information like budget and Gantt chart. Labour back-tracking is the only area requiring gap management.

Does PX360 have the ability to create Gantt charts?

  • Yes. This is a key part of the project creation process. It's closely tied to task management, budget and cost management, and detailed reporting.

Do you use purchase orders?

  • Yes, we have a feature called Work Orders. It's designed to individually track a particular contractor to further detail than just a Cost Centre; e.g. task and project budgets. It's a great way to manage suppliers/contractors with multiple payment points, variations, and retention on invoices.

How do you manage different contract/project types?

How does budget/cost tracking work?

  • PX360 uses a Xero integration to get all costs your accounts received through the use of a common project code. Capturing all these project costs allows us to use a budget matching tool to capture these costs to budget. Users can track labour times directly to a task using our free phone app. Once approved by management, these apply straight to the project budget. We make this process quick and simple with the ability for easy analysis and One Click PDF reports.

We've had a hard time keeping up with cost plus projects in the past. Can PX360 help with that?

  • The PX360 labour tracking via the free phone app coupled with our Xero integration provides a quick, easy way to create Cost Plus reports. PX360 will arrange approved costs under their appropriate cost centre allocation with details of the invoice and times from staff, so you can translate costs with the margin applied. You can even save these reports to PDF and/or electronically email them to the client for approval and signature right from PX360.

  • See our case study on Cost Plus contracts and their place in the market.

How does PX360 enable contract administration?

  • PX360 uses a simple site diary which allows for full visibility of photos, notes, tasks to do, and all contract administration templates and reports. Users click within the day they want and use the templates to fill in the fields to generate an event on the site diary for that project. Completed events/reports can also be saved to PDF and/or electronically emailed to the client for approval and signature right from PX360.
