How to add a new recipe
Updated this week

To add a recipe, head to Recipes on the left hand tab, and click “Add New Recipe” in the top right corner.

Step One - Recipe setup

Fill in the relevant fields with information about the recipe and check the relevant boxes:

Recipe Yield - how much does one recipe make up (e.g. one recipe = 1000ml of Sauce, one recipe = 10 Cookies)

Assign to sites - select the sites where this recipe is made, if no sites are selected you may not be able to see this recipe in your recipe list

Count in Stock take - tick this box if this is a recipe that you store, and would like to count in your stock takes or have available to waste

Sub-recipe - is this recipe part of another recipe made on site? If so, it’s important to tick this box so that this item can be used in other recipes.

Step Two - Add ingredients

There are three different ingredient sections:

Ingredients

These are the main ingredients which make up your recipe. To add a new ingredient:

  1. In the top field name the ingredient

  2. The field below this is a search bar, search for the product in your catalogue here

  3. Select the unit of measurement (the available options in the dropdown are linked to how the product is set up.)

  4. Input the quantity used

If the ingredient you use in the recipe is something you make up in-store:

  1. Check the 'sub-recipe' box

  2. Search and select the sub-recipe from your list of recipes

Variable Ingredients

Variable ingredients are ingredients that you can replace any core ingredient with, or ingredients you can add in to the recipe as extras. For example, oat milk is a replacement for cows milk.

  1. Select whether your ingredient is an "extra" or if it's a "replacement" for another main ingredient.

  2. In exactly the same way with the main ingredients, you can include products or sub-recipes as variable ingredients.

Packaging

Packaging can be added if relevant. This will be included in the total cost calculation for the recipe.

  1. Add the name of the packaging

  2. Search for the product in your catalogue

  3. Enter the quantity

  4. Select the dining option that the product is related to

Step Three - Recipe Instructions

This section is optional. You may add recipe instructions and/or images here. These will appear on the recipe in the Recipe Book tab.

Allergens can also be added here.
