Teacher How To: Create a Class Schedule

This guide walks you through setting up a class in your calendar.

Written by Heather Schultz

Before you start: You can set up a Student Group while creating your class schedule, or set one up in advance in the Student Groups section (optional but recommended). For detailed instructions, see Teacher How To: Create a Student Group.

To create a class schedule:

  • Log into your account and click Calendar on the left navigation bar

  • Click Create (top right or center of screen)

  • Select Class Schedule

  • Fill in the following information:

    • Class Name — Give your class a name

    • Student Group — Select one or more existing groups, or create a new one (optional)

    • Course — Choose the course you'll be teaching from the dropdown

  • Choose your Auto-Populate Lessons setting (on by default):

    • If enabled: Select a Starting Lesson. Lessons will appear in the order set in your Course Hub—if the order needs adjusting, do that first. If you don't have enough lessons for the full instructional period, class blocks will still be created and you can add lessons manually.

    • If disabled: Class blocks are created but you'll add lessons manually

  • Set your schedule details based on your schedule type:

    • For Weekly schedule: Select First Day of Class, which days of the week the class meets, and start/end times (different days can have different times if needed)

    • For A/B schedule: Select First Day of Class, which rotation the class meets, and start/end times (different rotations can have different times if needed)

Setting custom times: When selecting start/end times, the dropdown menu shows 15-minute increments. However, you can click into the field and type any time you want. It doesn't have to follow the 15-minute increments.

  • Click Create

Your class schedule is now set up. Any holidays or no-school days set by your admin will be skipped automatically. You can edit, adjust, or replace your lessons anytime. For more information, see Teacher How To: Add or Adjust Lessons in Your Class Schedule.
