Virtual Whiteboads in Schools

How to utilize templates and folders for virtual whiteboards and how to restrict access to them

Updated over a year ago

Teachers have access to all the features for working with virtual whiteboards. You can find detailed information about working with virtual boards in the "Virtual Whiteboard" article.

However, there are some differences in working with folders and templates that are worth noting.

Virtual Whiteboards in the School Administrator's Account

Open the "Materials" menu and select the "Whiteboards" tab.

School administrators can create whiteboards and folders that are by default accessible to all teachers in the school. Access to specific teachers or administrators can be restricted when creating or editing a board. To do this, go to the "Access" tab and select the checkboxes next to the teachers and administrators who should have access to the whiteboard.

If you activate the "Limited access" toggle and do not select any teachers or administrators using checkboxes, access will be closed to everyone. Access to folders cannot be restricted.

Each board has an access tag corresponding to the settings in the "Access" tab: "Full access," "No access," and "Limited access."

Virtual Board in the Teacher's Account

Teachers in the school can create their own virtual whiteboards, similar to private teachers. In addition to their own whiteboards, school teachers can use school boards created by administrators. Boards created by school administrators have the "School whiteboard" tag.

School whiteboards can be organized into folders, which can only be managed by school administrators.

School whiteboards serve as templates that teachers can modify and use in their work. However, teachers cannot edit or delete these whiteboards. Nevertheless, teachers have the option to open a whiteboard for preview, make changes, and save it as a personal whiteboard through the "Save as" option in the menu.

Personal virtual boards created by teachers have the "Personal whiteboard" tag and can be edited and deleted.

Teachers and school administrators do not have the ability to share interactive boards with colleagues.
