Using Zoom and Skype in online-lessons

This article will show you how to set up a permanent link and use Zoom and Skype on the platform.

Updated over a year ago

On Edvibe, you can use two types of video communication:

  1. Built-in video conferencing module

  2. External video conferencing software (Zoom, Skype).

In this article, we'll explain how you can conveniently use Zoom and Skype on the platform.

❗️ By making the settings below, you won't need to send a link to the students every time. The teacher and students will only need to click the call button in the video chat window.

Setting up Zoom

The school teacher should provide a permanent link to the Zoom conference in their profile settings. You can learn how to get such a link in the article.

After obtaining the link, the teacher copies it and pastes it into the 'Call link' field in their account settings.

Please note!

❗️To ensure that the Zoom link works correctly, the administrator must disable the use of the platform's built-in video conferencing module in the school's settings. This will apply to all teachers in the school.

After this setup, the student and teacher in the virtual classroom will simply need to click on the call icon in the video chat window to start the Zoom conference.

During the call, move the window here, so you can see the student without the window getting in the way during the lesson.

Setting up Skype

The link for Skype works in a similar way.

The format of the call link is: skype:username?call

You can find your Skype login in the Skype app: Settings → Account and Profile → Skype Name.
