Introduction
Using Announcements, you can communicate vital information to your team instantly via short 250-character posts. If that is not enough space to convey your message, you can add extra content to your Announcement.
Steps
Accessing the Announcement Editor
Go to Site Manager's Tools, accessed via the link in the Profile drop-down in the upper right-hand corner of the Home page.
Go to the Announcements management page by clicking "Announcements" in the left-hand navigation.
Adding Content
Click New Announcement.
Enter your announcement text in the Announcement Text box. Your copy may be up to 250 characters long.
Adding Additional Content to Your Announcement
Click on the carat to the left of the question "Add links or upload files to include with this announcement?" to see the additional content options.
Select the type of content that you want to add.
Adding A Link To A Website
Click "Link"
Enter the copy to appear on the link button in the Hyperlink Text field. The button label will default to Learn More if you do not add text.
Insert the URL of the destination location in the Link URL field.
Adding a Link to an Elemeno Resource
Click "Elemeno Resource."
Search your Elemeno library by typing the title in the open field.
Select the resource you wish the link to point to from the drop-down menu of search results.
The Resource Title will be the label on the button.
Uploading a PDF
Click "PDF Upload."
Enter the copy to appear on the link button in the Hyperlink Text field. The button label will default to the title of the PDF if you do not add text.
Click the blue Upload button in the File Upload field.
Drag and drop your PDF into the pop-up.
Creating a Quick Post
Click "New Quick Post."
Enter the copy to appear on the link button in the Hyperlink Text field.
Use the Quick Post Content window to author your content. This content editor offers many commonly used formatting features, including text styling, adding a hyperlink, and adding images. This content will automatically be published when you click "Publish" at the bottom of the page.
If you want and uploaded PDF or a Quick Post to be made into an Elemeno resource that will be added to your library, select "Publish and Request Resource..." at the bottom of this form.
Verify Publishing Information
Verify that the team or teams you want to see this Announcement are selected in the "Syndicate To" field. You may choose as many teams as is appropriate or select All Teams to post the announcement to all teams on your instance of the Elemeno App.
Verify the Expiration Date. This field will default to 2 weeks, but you can select any appropriate date. As this is intended to be timely information, it is recommended that you keep these live no longer than a month.
Alert styling. If you wish for this Announcement to have Alert styling applied, toggle this switch to the right.
Publishing
Publish your Announcement by clicking one of the following buttons:
Publish - This will instantly publish your Announcement.
Publish and Request Resource...- This option is available if you have uploaded a PDF or created a Quick Post. Select this option if you would like to publish your announcement AND add this content to your searchable Elemeno library.
