Introduction
A patient can have multiple phone numbers associated with their profile. Each number can include the following attributes:
Type (Mobile, Home)
Description (Free text field)
One of the numbers can also be marked as the primary number. This primary number will be selected by default when creating a new consultation or follow-up.
Phone numbers can be used when creating a consultation or follow-up. If a patient has more than one number on file, you can assign one to the consultation or follow-up at the time of creation, helping you avoid constantly editing the patient profile.
Adding or Editing a Patient’s Phone Numbers
You can add or edit phone numbers in several ways:
From the patient’s profile, by editing the patient’s information
During the creation of a consultation or follow-up, by editing the selected patient
When modifying an existing consultation or follow-up, by editing the phone number linked to the questionnaire
Available actions when modifying a patient
➕ Add a new phone number
You can add a phone number by specifying:
A type (Mobile or Home) – this field is required
A description – optional
✏️ Edit an existing phone number
When modifying an existing number, a notice will be displayed to inform you how many active consultations or follow-ups currently use this number, as these will also be updated.
💡 The changes to the patient's phone numbers will also be applied to the ongoing consultations and follow-ups for this patient.
🗑 Delete an existing phone number
If you remove a number, a notice will appear showing how many active consultations or follow-ups are currently using it. You’ll be asked to select an alternative number for those questionnaires.
⭐ Set a new default (primary) phone number
The new primary number will be selected automatically when creating a new consultation or follow-up.
💡 Existing consultations and follow-ups will remain unchanged. Updating the primary phone number only affects the default number selected when creating a new questionnaire.
