Guide - Accessing QR Codes and Public Shareable Links

Generate links and QR codes to direct patients to the appropriate questionnaires, whether in the pharmacy, online, or before an appointment.

Updated over 2 weeks ago

Step 1 – Access Public Shareable Links

  1. Log in to Empego using an Owner or Pharmacist account.

  2. Click on your name in the top-right corner of the screen.

  3. Select “Public shareable links” from the dropdown menu.

🚨 Assistant accounts do not have access to shareable public links.

Step 2 – Understanding the 3 Types of Available Links

Empego now offers three formats of shareable links, based on your use case:

Link Type

Recommended Use

Format

In-pharmacy link

Display physically in the pharmacy: counter, waiting area, or aisles (e.g., smoking cessation, reflux, etc.)

Printable QR code

Outside pharmacy link

Share online: website, social media, newsletters, etc.

Shareable URL

Appointment link

Integrate into a booking platform so patients can complete their questionnaire before their visit

Shareable URL

Each link type gives you two options:

Copy the URL to the clipboard

Download the corresponding QR code

💡 All links direct to a public page linked to your pharmacy, offering a simplified experience for your patients.

Step 3 – Generate a General or Specific Link

Option A: General Link to the Empego Search Page

Allows patients to search for their chief complaint using a search bar.

  • Select the desired link type: in-pharmacy, outside pharmacy, or appointment.

Option B: Specific Link to a Consultation Reason

  • Use the search bar to enter the desired reason (e.g., urinary tract infection, smoking cessation).

  • Click on the matching result.

  • Empego will automatically generate the three link types for that reason:

    • In-pharmacy link (printable QR code)

    • Outside pharmacy link (URL for website or social media)

    • Appointment link (to include in booking confirmations or reminders)

✅ These links provide direct access to the correct questionnaire without going through the homepage.

Best Practices

  • Ensure the "Authorize the use of public links" option is enabled.

  • Test each link before sharing it.

  • Use specific links for your targeted campaigns.

  • Prioritize QR codes in the pharmacy and the URL for digital communications (emails, social media).

💡 Tip: Enable Notifications

To ensure fast and efficient follow-up, you can enable notifications to be informed as soon as a patient submits a questionnaire via an outside pharmacy (online) public link.

How to Enable Notifications

  1. Click your name in the top-right corner.

  2. Select “Manage my franchise.”

  3. Open the “Notification system” tab.

  4. Check your preferred notification options.

Depending on your preferences, you can:

  • Receive a notification by fax directly at the pharmacy.

  • Receive a notification by SMS at the phone numbers of your choice.
