In a Straight Up Pick’em contest, entrants are simply selecting which team they believe will win each game. Point spreads do not determine whether a pick is correct.
Why do I see percentages next to each team?
If your Straight Up contest has the “Display Spreads for Info Reasons Only” setting toggled OFF, the picksheet will display a win probability percentage for each team.
These percentages provide additional information about each matchup and represent the estimated probability of each team winning the game.
For example, you may see:
Patriots — 33.6%
Seahawks — 66.4%
These percentages are for informational purposes only and do not affect contest scoring or the value of a pick.
Can I turn off the win probability percentages?
Currently, there is no separate setting to remove or hide the win probability percentages from the picksheet.
Commissioners running a Straight Up contest have two display options:
Win Probability: If “Display Spreads for Info Reasons Only” is OFF, entrants will see win probability percentages.
Point Spreads: If “Display Spreads for Info Reasons Only” is ON, entrants will see the point spreads for each matchup for informational purposes.
Regardless of which information is displayed, the contest remains Straight Up. Entrants are picking the team they believe will win the game, and the displayed win probabilities or spreads do not change how picks are scored.
