Let’s walk through how the Back Order Overview screen helps you stay on top of customer demand when stock is temporarily unavailable.
What is a Back Order?
A Back Order occurs when a customer places an order for a product that is currently out of stock. ERP Go tracks these items and provides a centralized view so you can manage fulfillment, purchasing, and communication efficiently.
Get Started
To access the Back Order screen, navigate to Orders > Back Orders
Here, you’ll see a detailed list of all items currently on back order, along with key information to help you manage them.
Filters
At the top of the screen, you can filter the view by:
Product – Search by product name or code
Account – Filter by customer account
Date Range – Focus on orders within a specific timeframe
Depot – View back orders by warehouse or location
These filters help you quickly narrow down the list to what matters most.
Each row in the table represents a back-ordered item and includes the following columns:
Name – Product name with a visual icon
Order – The sales order number linked to the back order
Delivery Date – The expected delivery date for the item
Account – The customer linked to the order
Supplier Account – The preferred supplier responsible for fulfilling the item
On Back Order – Quantity currently on back order
Held – Quantity held in stock but not yet allocated
Available – Quantity available for allocation
Min & Max – Minimum and maximum stock thresholds
Reorder - Indicates the inventory level at which a new purchase order should be triggered to replenish stock before it runs out
Total Back Order – Total quantity of the item on back orders
Total on PO – Total quantity already on purchase orders
Quick Tip
Use this screen to identify which items need urgent reordering or supplier follow-up. You can also use it to prioritize deliveries once stock becomes available.
You can click the Order link directly from the Back Order Overview screen to jump straight into the related sales order. This allows you to quickly review, update, or fulfill the backorder without needing to search for the order separately.
Best Practices
Review regularly to stay ahead of customer expectations
Use filters to focus on high-priority items or key accounts
