What is MFA?
Multi-factor Authentication (MFA) is a security process that requires users to provide two or more verification methods to gain access to a resource such as an application or online account. Instead of just using a password, MFA combines something you know (like a password), something you have (like a smartphone for receiving codes), and/or something you are (like a fingerprint).
This additional layer of security makes it much harder for attackers to gain unauthorized access, even if they manage to compromise one form of authentication.
