“You can't improve what you don't measure.” Peter Drucker.

Measures in the Everperform app let you track your KPIs or measures. Measures are instrumental in tracking and managing your performance at work. Measures are the objective metrics that help in assessing how an individual, team, or entire business is performing against set goals or targets. These could be in the context of operational, financial, efficiency, or other strategic objectives. Examples of measures include work-in-progress (WIP), productivity hours, and annual leave.

Measure Definitions

A measure is defined by its value, which could include a specific target and is used to quantify individual or organizational performance. The actual value shows the current status, while the target provides the goalpost. Moreover, each measure can be assigned a type of value, such as dollars, hours, units, etc. This is defined when the measure is created.

When a measure is created, it can be set to either public or private. Public measures are visible to everyone in the organization, while private measures are only visible to specific individuals or teams.

Measure Categories

Measures are also categorized into different groups, such as Effectiveness, Time, and even by Group (prefixed by G). Each category serves to collate similar types of measures, enabling a more organized and meaningful analysis and helping in filtering to view specific measure types.

Visual Indicators

The app colour-codes measures to indicate their status. Measures that meet or exceed their targets for a specific period are highlighted in green, whereas those that have not met their targets are highlighted in red.

Filters and Date Pickers

Using various filters, you can view specific categories, such as Effectiveness or Time, on a monthly, yearly, or financial-year basis. You can also filter based on labels, provided these were assigned at the time of measure creation.

With the date picker, you can select a specific month for which you want to view the measures. Predefined filters such as daily, weekly, monthly, or yearly are also available.

Editing and Deleting measures

Next to each measure, there are options to edit (represented by a gear icon) or delete (represented by a trash bin) the measure as needed.

Custom Measures

Aside from the default measures provided by your practice manager or integrations, you can also add custom measures to track specific metrics that are unique or particularly important to your role or team.

Understanding Measure Trends

The Measure Trends page is a powerful feature in your performance management application. It allows you to gain insights into your performance trends over time and make informed decisions. By visualising data in an easy-to-understand manner, the Measure Trends page aids in tracking, comparing, and analysing individual or team performance.

The Measure Trends page gathers all the metrics from the My Measures page and displays their trends using area graphs. By default, the page shows trends for a selected group or category. Each group is composed of one or more measures, and for every measure within that group, a trend chart is displayed.

To view the trends for a particular group, you simply need to click on the dropdown menu and select your desired group.

Analysing Individual Measure Trends

By clicking on the name of a measure, you can delve deeper into its specific trends. The resulting page will present a more detailed area chart, displaying lines for the actual performance and the target. This provides an easy visual comparison between your current performance and your set goals.

Customising Your View

You can use the date filter to select a specific period for analysis, or you can click on Show All Data to view the trends for all available data for the selected measure.

The Compare View option lets you compare the trend of one measure against another, providing comparative insights. If you wish to revert to viewing a single measure, simply select the Single View option.

Filters

There are three pre-defined filters available - Raw, Aggregate, and Progress:

  • Raw displays the raw data over the area graph, complete with actual and target trendlines.

  • Aggregate allows you to compile the data either by selected dates or from the start of the year.

  • Progress presents the actual and target values as a percentage of the target in a bar graph, with an accompanying trend line.

In conclusion, measures are vital tools for tracking and improving business performance and Everperform brings all measures together into one page to track and manage your productivity and performance. By understanding how to use and interpret measures, you can gain valuable insights, track, compare, and manage performance trends and can help with the overall effectiveness of your strategic planning and execution.
