Complete Breakdown of Attendee Form Fields

Updated over a week ago

When setting up an event, it’s important to gather the right information from your attendees. The Attendee Form feature lets you customize which fields are displayed, so you can collect exactly what you need. Below is a complete breakdown of the available field types and their settings.

Default Fields

When the attendee form is enabled, three fields are added automatically:

  • First Name

  • Last Name

  • Email

These fields are essential for identifying attendees and sending confirmation emails or updates.

Custom Field Types

You can add the following field types to collect additional information:

  1. Text Field
Collect short or long text responses (e.g. dietary needs, addresses, or custom notes).

  2. Checkbox
Use for yes/no answers or to let attendees select individual options.

  3. Dropdown
Present a dropdown list of predefined options; attendees can select one.

  4. Choice List
Similar to dropdowns, but allows multiple selections at once.

  5. Header
Add non-editable text to separate sections of your form or add context.

  6. Custom Content
Embed static text, links, or instructions directly into the form.

  7. Phone Field
Collect phone numbers for communication or emergency contact purposes.

Field Behavior Options

You can configure how each field behaves based on your event’s needs:

  • Required: Force attendees to complete this field before proceeding.

  • Collect for All Ticket Types: Gather the same data across every ticket type, regardless of which one is selected.

  • Conditional Visibility: Show or hide fields based on previous answers (e.g. show dietary restrictions only if “Attending dinner” is selected).

  • Hide on Storefront Popup: Conceal the field during ticket purchase (useful for fields only needed post-purchase).

  • Hide on Ticket Page: Prevent the field from showing on the attendee’s ticket page.

  • Locked on Ticket Page: Make the field visible but prevent attendees from editing it after purchase.

  • Hide in Check-In App: Exclude the field from the event staff’s view during check-in.

  • Editable in Check-In App: Allow staff to change the field value when checking in attendees.

  • Unique ID: Each field generates a unique ID based on its label. This is useful for integrations or advanced customization.

By customizing the attendee form, you can ensure you're collecting the right information before, during, or after ticket purchase. Whether you need a simple name and email setup or a detailed intake form, these field options give you full flexibility.
