If you need to reconcile your event sales with what actually hit your bank account, you can generate a Net Sales by Product report directly in Shopify. This report shows the true breakdown - including gross sales, discounts, refunds, and net sales, so you can match your payouts more accurately.
Why Use Shopify’s Reports
Evey sends all order and ticket data to Shopify, where the actual payment processing happens.
That means while Evey shows your gross event revenue, Shopify’s reporting reflects the real-world totals that account for:
Refunds
Discount codes
Credit card processing fees
Shopify transaction fees
Since these deductions happen after Evey passes the order to Shopify, you’ll want to use Shopify’s Net Sales report for accounting reconciliation.
📊 How to Create a “Net Sales by Product” Report in Shopify
In your Shopify Admin, go to Analytics → Reports.
Click New exploration (top right corner).
In the pop-up, type Net Sales by Product, then select it.
When the report loads, you’ll see a list of all products grouped by Product Title with columns for:
Gross sales
Discounts
Returns
Net sales
Taxes
Total sales
This gives you a clear, line-by-line breakdown of how much each product (or event) contributed to your overall revenue.
🎯 Filter by a Specific Event or Product Tag
If you only want to view your event-related products:
Option 1: Filter by Product Title
Click Filter → Add Filter.
Choose Product title, then set it to contains your event name (e.g., Group Test Event).
Click Apply.
You’ll now see only that specific event’s sales.
Option 2: Filter by Product Tag
If all your event products are tagged with the word event, use:
WHERE product_tags CONTAINS 'event'
(ShopifyQL will automatically handle this in the exploration query builder — just select the tag filter.)
Adjust the Date Range
You can narrow the results to a specific time frame (like a month or an event period):
Click the Date range filter.
Choose Fixed → select your desired range (e.g., September 1–30).
Click Apply.
The report will refresh with only transactions within that range.
📤 Export the Data
To export your results for accounting or reconciliation:
Click the ⋮ (three dots) menu in the upper right corner.
Choose Export → select your preferred format (CSV, Excel, or PDF).
You can then import this file into your bookkeeping tool or share it with your accounting team.
What This Report Helps You See
This Shopify report will let you clearly view:
Column | Description |
Gross Sales | The total before discounts or refunds |
Discounts | Any applied discount codes |
Returns | Value of refunded orders |
Net Sales | What’s left after discounts and returns |
Taxes & Total Sales | For full payout visibility |
Why Evey’s Reports Differ
Evey’s internal reports show total ticket sales per event - based on ticket price × number of tickets sold.
They don’t include Shopify’s processing fees or refunds, since those occur after the order is sent to Shopify.
That’s why pulling the Net Sales by Product report directly from Shopify gives the clearest picture for accounting and payout reconciliation.
