The Fair HQ scoring algorithm is complex. We triangulate insights across all elements of your assessment to score your Equality, Inclusion and Diversity, and different questions feed into different areas.

Not to worry though, we keep it simple when presenting your insights. All scores are shown on a scale of 0-10, 0 being the most negative, 10 being the most positive, every time. Across the Fair HQ platform, we use a red/orange/green colour code so you can easily see how you're doing at a glance.

For those of you hungry for more, we've included the exact breakdown of each sub-area within Equality, Inclusion and Diversity to allow you to see exactly how your score is calculated.

Inclusion & Survey Responses

For most questions within the Employee Survey, employees rate their experience on a scale of 1-10, 1 being "disagree completely", 10 being "totally agree".

Some questions have a negative framing. In these cases, 10 is not the most favourable answer. For example:

  • "I feel I have to do more than my peers to get recognition".

In this instance, 1 would be the most favourable score, as it indicates that they don't feel the statement is true. So when we calculate the scores for this question, we score it inversely.

It might sound confusing, but don't worry. When we present scores back to you within the platform, we always consider "10" as the most positive score.

In this example company, the employees do feel as though they have to do more than their peers to get recognition. Although the traditional majority are expressing a slightly more positive response to this question, the red colour indicates that this is an area to look into as employees don't feel positive about this question.

When in doubt, just remember that when you see your scores in the Fair HQ platform:

  • 0 is the most negative score

  • 10 is the most positive score

  • Red = low score, an area you should look into

  • Orange = okay score, might need some attention

  • Green = high score, well done!
