Creating and selling half-season tickets is a great way to boost revenue half way through the season and an opportunity to engage casual fans.
Setting up half-season tickets within Fanbase is similar to creating regular season tickets.
How to set up a half-season ticket
1. Create a Half-Season Ticket Sale Window
On the main menu, select ‘Tickets’ then ‘Season Tickets’.
Select the ‘Sale Windows’ tab.
Click the ‘Create Sale Window’ button.
A pop-up will appear where you can:
Name your sale window.
Choose the start and end dates for when tickets will be on sale.
(If using Allocated Seating) Select your seating chart season.
Toggle ‘Validity Period’ on and set the dates when the half-season ticket will be valid. (Note: Dates are inclusive. If a ticket is valid until December 1st and there’s a game that day, it will still be valid.)
Toggle ‘On Sale to Fans’ on if you want tickets to go live immediately.
Click ‘Create Sale Window’.
💡 Note: If you are not using Allocated Seating, you must assign tickets for sale before they are available for purchase. (See instructions below.)
2. Create a Season Ticket Attached to the Half-Season Ticket Sale Window
Click ‘Manage’ next to the sale window you just created.
Select ‘Create a Season Ticket’ from the dropdown menu.
Fill out the form and click ‘Save’.
✅ If using Allocated Seating, no further action is required.
✅ If NOT using Allocated Seating, proceed to the next step to assign tickets for sale.
3. Assign Your Half-Season Tickets for Sale
To make half-season tickets available for purchase:
Go to the ‘Sale Window’ tab and find your half-season ticket sale window.
Click ‘Manage’.
Click ‘Assign Tickets’.
Enter the number of tickets you want to assign and click ‘Save’. (Note: If using Allocated Seating, this step is not required.)
🎉 Now your half-season tickets are live! Click on the link icon next to ‘Manage’ to share the purchase link on social media.
What Does the Fan See?
Fans purchase half-season tickets just like full-season tickets, but with a few key differences:
The validity period is clearly displayed throughout the purchase flow.
If a fan tries to view their ticket outside the validity period, the QR code will appear blurred and unavailable for use.
If a printed QR code is scanned outside the valid period, a message will appear stating the ticket is invalid.
