Summary
This article explains how to notify many customers when you can't perform outside services. If you have an existing communication flow for this situation that works, stick with it. If not, this process might be quicker for you.
Note The bottom of this article points you to two other articles that explain how to bulk move those Work Orders to another day.
If you can't do exterior work due to inclement weather, you can notify all the customers scheduled for exterior work that day through a mass email.
Key Points
Export your Call List report
Open the CSV file in a spreadsheet program
Copy the email addresses into your business email program and send
Bulk move your Work Orders to another day
Go to Reports > Call List.
Filter To and From dates for that day or days, and click the Apply button.
Click the Export button and select CSV.
Open the file in Excel or Sheets, sort by Service Type (it should be column Y).
Go to the Email column (it should be column V), and copy all the email addresses for exterior service in that column.
Open your mail program (Outlook, Gmail, etc.).
BCC line: paste the email addresses into the BCC line (Blind carbon copy) - paste it here to hide the email addresses from each of your customers
TO Line: add your own email address
Subject Line: something like Rain Delay
Email body: explain the weather issue and why you can't do exterior work, apologize, and request that they call for rescheduling the appointment (if that is your MO for rescheduling)
Naturally, if you have less than 10 customers that day it might be faster to call them on the phone.
Also, make a condition called Rain Out so you can mark your Work Orders should rain start when you're out in the field.
Note For those customers who do not have an email address on file you will have to call to reschedule.
