Create Task Types for the most common tasks

Summary

Create Task Types for the work you do most often — call-backs, verifying invoices and work orders, follow-up reminders two weeks after an initial visit, lunch breaks, creating invoices without work orders, and more. You can assign a task to yourself or to anyone else in your business.

  • Create as many as make sense for your business


How to Get to Task Types

From the top of the navigation bar, click Settings (gear icon)

Under Company Setup, click Task Types


How to Create a Task Type

Click the New Task Type button in the upper-right corner

Enter the Task Type name

Example: Call-back

If you plan to add the Visible to Customer section to your document templates, check the Visible to Customer box

Click Create Task Type to save

Once you have created a task, it will show up as a list on your Task Types page and look something like this:


How to Delete a Task

  • Go to the Task Types page that lists all of your tasks

  • Click the red delete button to the right of the task you would like to delete
