What are the different types of countdown timers?

Written by Zach Siecinski

Flash Countdown Timer offers different timer types depending on how you want your countdown to behave.

Each type is designed for a specific use case - like one-time sales, daily promos, or per-visitor urgency.

1. Fixed end date & time (one-time)

This timer counts down to a specific date and time.

Once it reaches zero, it ends and does not restart.

Best for:

  • Product launches

  • Holiday sales

  • Limited-time events

👉 Example: “Sale ends March 31 at 11:59 PM”

2. Fixed minutes per visitor

This timer creates a unique countdown for each visitor.

The timer starts when someone lands on the page, so every visitor gets their own countdown.

Best for:

  • Cart urgency (“Complete your order in 10 minutes”)

  • Limited-time offers per visitor

  • Increasing conversions

👉 Example: “Your discount expires in 10 minutes”

3. Daily recurring window

This timer runs during a specific time window each day and repeats automatically.

You choose:

  • Start time

  • End time

  • Days (every day or weekdays)

Best for:

  • Daily deals

  • Lunch or happy hour promos

  • Order cutoff times

👉 Example: “Today’s deal ends in 2 hours (9 AM – 11 AM)”
