Once your own staff are on Florence, you can build their schedule in the dashboard and see it next to the shifts you're covering through Florence.
Start with your staffing requirements. This is where you tell Florence how many people of each role each unit needs, for each part of the day.
With requirements set, the schedule shows you where you're short rather than making you work it out. A unit that needs two PSWs on a night and has one scheduled shows as a gap, and you can post that gap as a Florence shift without leaving the page.
That's the point of doing both together. Your permanent team covers what it covers, Florence fills what's left, and you see the whole picture rather than half of it.
Keep your staff list current. Someone who has left but is still on the system will make a unit look covered when it isn't. Set requirements per unit rather than per building. A dementia unit and a residential floor rarely need the same cover.
Revisit requirements when things change. Occupancy, acuity and layout all move, and stale requirements quietly stop being useful.
If you're setting this up for the first time, email partners.ca@florenceapp.com and we'll go through it with you. It's worth half an hour to get right.
