I qualified as a nurse outside of Canada, can I work as a nurse with Florence?

CNO registration for internationally qualified nurses, and your options if you're not registered yet.

Written by Thomas Wolfe

To work as a nurse anywhere in Canada, you have to be registered with the nursing regulator for your province. In Ontario, that's the College of Nurses of Ontario (CNO).

To nurse with Florence, you need a valid CNO number with the status "entitled to practice with no restrictions".

If you qualified as a nurse in another country, you need to register with the CNO first. They check that your training and skills meet Canadian standards. You apply to the CNO directly, and it isn't something Florence can do for you.

Not registered with the CNO yet? You may still be able to work with us as a personal support worker (PSW), as long as you have clinical experience in Canada. To join as a PSW, upload your international nurse qualification in place of a PSW diploma.

If your CNO registration comes through later, email us at hello.ca@florenceapp.com and we'll take it from there.
