Simplifying Work Order Groupings by Parent-Child Relationship

  1. Introduction

    • New feature: work order groupings by parent-child relationship.

    • Benefits: useful for managing multiple vendors, inventory/services, different trades on the same work order.

  2. Enabling the Feature

    • Access global settings as an admin.

    • Turn on "show parent child work orders" for specific user roles (e.g., admins, operations, collaborate).

  3. Setting Up Parent-Child Relationship

    • Navigate to a work order and scroll down to find "connected work orders."

    • Choose to designate a work order as a parent or a child.

    • Associate child work orders to a parent work order by adding their IDs.

  4. Managing Work Orders

    • View details of associated work orders (category, description, scheduled completion).

    • Disconnect and re-associate work orders if needed.

    • Easily access linked work orders through hyperlinks.
