How to Create Equipment with the AI Assistant

Updated this week

Create a new equipment record by describing the asset or using the live stream camera to capture nameplate data and photos.

Using text or voice

  1. Open the AI Assistant.

  2. Describe the equipment — include the type, manufacturer, model, location, and any other details you have.

  3. The assistant creates the record with the fields populated from your description.

  4. Review and confirm.

Using live stream to create equipment (recommended for tagging)

  1. Navigate to the Equipment page.

  2. Put the assistant in autonomous mode.

  3. Tap Live Stream Create (or say "live stream to create equipment").

  4. Your camera opens in a separate modal. Start capturing photos — the nameplate, the unit itself, the filter, serial number labels, anything relevant.

  5. While capturing photos, talk naturally: "I'm looking at a four-ton HVAC unit. This is the nameplate. This is the filter side. It's located on the second floor mechanical room."

  6. Tap Submit. The assistant creates the equipment record in the background using your photos and description.

  7. The live stream modal stays open — walk to the next piece of equipment and start again. You don't need to wait for the previous one to finish.

What you can say

  • "Create a new piece of equipment — it's a Carrier 50XC rooftop unit on Building A, serial number 1234ABC."

  • "New equipment — I'm looking at a boiler in the basement mechanical room. Weil-McLain, model 88."

Tips

  • The live stream is designed for bulk equipment tagging. Put the assistant on auto, walk through a building, and create records one after another without waiting.

  • The assistant reads nameplate data from photos when it can — manufacturer, model, and serial number.

  • You can also drag and drop or paste photos into the live stream modal if you've already taken them.
