Summarizing Data with FORA
FORA helps you quickly generate summaries from a variety of content sources.
Here are the ways you can use FORA to generate summaries:
Audio/Video Meeting Files — Upload mp3 or mp4 files, or provide links containing audio/video content.
Documents — Upload PDF, DOC(X), CSV, XLS(X), or TXT files for summarization.
Earnings Calls — Subscribe to stock tickers and receive summaries of their earnings calls as they happen.
Slack Channels — Summarize public Slack channels on a daily, weekly, or monthly schedule.
Teams Channels — Summarize Microsoft Teams channels on a daily, weekly, or monthly basis.
Email Summarization — Forward emails directly to feed@fora.day from your inbox.
1) Summarizing Audio/Video Meeting Files
You can upload and summarize audio or video recordings of past meetings in FORA.
To Upload a File:
Open the FORA App.
Go to Summarize > Audio & Video.
Follow the prompts to upload your file.
After Uploading:
Summaries are generated within a few minutes.
View them under Recent Summaries.
To Filter Summaries:
Visit the Recent Summaries page.
Apply these filters:
Content Type: “Meeting”
Category: Choose the category used during upload.
2) Summarizing Documents
FORA lets you upload files and automatically generates summaries from the documents.
Supported file types: PDF, CSV, TXT, DOC(X), XLS(X), .
Maximum file size: 300 MB.
You can only upload one file at a time and its content will be summarized.
Support for uploading multiple files at once is coming soon!
After Uploading:
Summaries are generated within a few minutes.
View them under Recent Summaries.
To Filter Summarized Documents :
Visit the Recent Summaries page.
Apply these filters:
Content Type: “Documents”
You will now see the file name of your uploaded document listed as the title.
3) Earnings Calls
FORA now supports summarization of earnings calls.
✅ Supported Tickers: Only NASDAQ-listed stock tickers are currently supported.
Subscribing to Earnings Calls
Future Earnings Calls:
Subscribing to a stock ticker ensures you automatically receive summaries of all future earnings calls.
Previous Earnings Calls:
You can also receive summaries of past earnings calls by selecting a previous date when subscribing to a ticker.
Summaries will be generated and delivered at 10 PM EST on the day of the earnings call.
Managing Subscriptions
To manage your subscriptions, navigate to:
Settings > Earnings Calls
Only Executives and Admins have permission to add or manage earnings call subscriptions.
All users within the organization are automatically subscribed to all earnings call summaries.
Viewing Summaries
All earnings call summaries are available under the Recent Summaries page.
To Filter Earnings Call Summaries
Go to the Recent Summaries page.
Apply the following filter:
Content Type: Select “Earnings Calls”
You will see a list of summarized earnings calls as they are published.
4) Slack Digests Setup
STEP 1: In FORA App - Connect to Your Slack Workspace
In the FORA App, navigate to Summarize > Slack Channels
Contact your admin if you see the following message:"Connect Slack: FORA needs access to Slack in order to create Slack Digests of your channels. Contact us or your admin for details."
If you’re the admin/executive click Connect Slack button
Follow the on-screen instructions to authorize the connection to Slack.
Once connected, the FORA app will appear under the Apps section in Slack (see screenshot below).
Note: This is a one-time setup and applies to your entire organization.
STEP 2: In Slack - Add FORA Bot to Public Slack Channels
Note: FORA can only summarize public Slack channels (not private ones). Any user can add FORA to a public channel
To add FORA to a channel:
Go to the public Slack channel you want to summarize.
Type the command
/invite @FORA
Once added, you will see a confirmation message like the screenshot below in Slack.
STEP 3: In FORA App - Create a Slack Channel Digest
NOTE: After adding the FORA integration to your workspace, users can choose to summarize one or more channels at regular intervals. For example, a user could create a Sales Weekly Digest that summarizes all messages from the #sales channel on a weekly basis. Users can also combine multiple channels into a single summary for easier access and better analysis.
Navigate to Summarize > Slack Channels.
Create a Slack Digest for the channels which you added FORA in Step 2.
You may select single or multiple channels to summarize.
Choose whether to summarize messages on a daily, weekly, or monthly cadence
Daily – Repeats every day at midnight.
Weekly – Repeats every Sunday at midnight.
Monthly – Repeats on the last day of each month at midnight.
Once you create a Slack Digest, it will appear under Recent Summaries after summarization.
To Filter Slack Digests
Go to the Recent Summaries page.
Apply the following filter:
Content Type: Select “Slack Digest”
5) Teams Digests Setup
STEP 1: In FORA App - Connect to Your Teams Workspace
In the FORA App, navigate to Summarize > Teams Channels
Contact your admin if you see the following message:"Connect Teams: FORA needs access to Teams in order to create Teams Digests of your channels. Contact us or your admin for details."
If you’re the admin/executive click Connect Teams button
Follow the on-screen instructions to authorize the connection to Teams.
Once connected, FORA app will list out all the teams you have access to.
Note: FORA can only summarize public Teams channels (not private ones).

Content Type: Select “Teams Digest”
6) Email Summarization
FORA can automatically summarize your emails, including any attached documents.
To summarize an email, simply forward it to feed@fora.day.
Any documents attached to the email will also be included in the summary. Supported file types are PDF, DOC(X), CSV, XLS(X), or TXT files.
Email summaries are private and only visible to the user who forwarded the email.
Summaries are typically generated within 10 minutes, depending on the size of the email and its attachments.
Once summarized you can find email summaries under Recent Summaries > filter: Content Type= “Email Thread”
