Don’t want to be surprised by guests who book five minutes before walking in?
With the booking window, you decide exactly how far in advance guests can make a reservation for a Shift. Once that limit is reached, the time slot automatically disappears from the widget.
Why a Booking Window can be useful
Scenario 1: Avoid surprises from last-minute reservations.
→ For example, only allow bookings up to one hour before the Shift starts.
Scenario 2: Want more prep time for group bookings?
→ Set up a Booking Window for Group Bookings only, so that groups must book at least a day in advance.
How to Set a Booking Window
In FRANK, go to Manage → Shifts.
Select the shift you want to adjust.
In the left-hand menu, click Booking Window.
Under Maximum time in advance you can set the very first moment can make a reservation for this Shift.
For example: when you create a Christmas Ticket + Shift you might want to have a specific time in advance it can be booked, for example 3 months in advance.
If you use this option, you can even set up a specific time in advance. This can be useful when you have been promoting your Special Menu in a newsletter and already let guests know "Friday at 21:00 we start accepting bookings for Christmas".
Under Minimum time in advance you can set the latest moment on which guests can make a reservation for this Shift. Use the dropdown to select your preferred time.
Select custom in the dropdown menu if you want to define a specific period.
Want to restrict bookings to a specific time of day (e.g. no later than 5:00 PM)? Toggle Time of day on and set your desired time.
Tip! Use shorter booking windows for busy shifts to stay flexible, and longer windows for group menus so your kitchen and service teams have plenty of prep time.
