Reserve with Google allows guests to book directly through your Google Business Profile using the blue 'reserve a table' button.
Google displays the available times provided by FRANK. Once a guest makes a booking, the reservation is immediately accepted and added to FRANK.
There are no additional costs for using Reserve with Google. Neither Google nor FRANK charges commission per reservation or cover.
What does the guest see?
When a guest finds your restaurant through Google Search or Google Maps:
The guest clicks Reserve a table.
The guest selects a date, party size and available start time.
The guest enters their first name, last name, phone number and email address. They can also add an optional note.
The reservation is confirmed immediately.
The guest receives the confirmation and any reminders from Google.
If multiple reservation systems are connected to your Google Business Profile, Google first asks the guest to select a provider.
Google only displays the reservation’s start time. The end time, area, terrace preference and table type are not shown.
Before activating Reserve with Google
Google automatically tries to match the restaurant information from FRANK with your Google Business Profile.
The following information in FRANK must therefore match the information on Google exactly:
Restaurant name
Street and house number
Postal code
City
Country
Phone number
Website
Even a small difference, such as a missing unit number or a different abbreviation in the street name, can prevent the connection from being established.
Always use your restaurant’s official business name. Do not add emojis, promotional text or unnecessary capital letters.
Restaurants inside a hotel, food hall or shared venue
Restaurants that share an address with a hotel, food hall or another business are more likely to be matched incorrectly.
Make sure your restaurant has its own Google Business Profile. Do not use the general profile of the hotel or venue.
Checklist in FRANK
Before activating the integration, check that the following information and settings are complete:
Requirement | Where can you find it? |
Full address, including country, city, postal code, street and house number | Manage → Restaurant |
Phone number and website | Manage → Restaurant |
Correct time zone | Manage → Restaurant |
Google Place ID | Manage → Restaurant → Google Place ID |
At least one active shift on which Reserve with Google is allowed | Manage → Shifts → Select shift → Booking channels |
At least one named ticket without a payment requirement | Tickets |
A restaurant without a complete address will not be sent to Google. You will not receive a separate error message about this.
Add your Google Place ID
Adding your Google Place ID is strongly recommended. It tells Google exactly which Business Profile should be connected to your restaurant.
You can find your Place ID using the Google Place ID Finder.
Activate Reserve with Google
Check that all restaurant information in FRANK is complete and exactly matches your Google Business Profile.
In FRANK, go to Manage → Integrations / Apps → Reserve with Google.
Click Enable.
Open each shift you want guests to be able to book through Google.
Under Booking channels, enable Reserve with Google.
Your account must have permission to manage applications for the restaurant.
Shifts on which the booking channel has not been enabled will not be sent to Google.
When will the reservation button appear?
FRANK sends your restaurant information, tickets and availability to Google once per night. Google then processes the information and matches the restaurant with the correct Business Profile.
After activation, it can take between two and seven days for the Reserve a table button to appear. Google states that this normally happens within one week.
Once the button appears, check the integration as follows:
Search for your restaurant on Google in an incognito window.
Click Reserve a table.
Check whether FRANK is displayed as a provider.
Compare the available times with your FRANK widget.
Which availability is shown on Google?
FRANK sends availability for the next 45 days to Google once per night.
The same availability rules used by your FRANK widget apply, including:
Opening hours and shift times
Minimum notice
Booking window
Limits per shift, ticket or time slot
Existing reservations
Availability per area
Seating duration
Squeeze settings
Google never displays availability more than 45 days in advance. If the booking window in FRANK is shorter, the shorter period applies.
Changes to availability
New availability becomes visible on Google after the next nightly synchronisation. This applies when, for example:
A reservation is cancelled
You add a new shift
You increase a limit
You remove a closed day
It can take up to approximately 24 hours for these changes to appear on Google.
Availability that becomes unavailable during the day is also removed during the next nightly synchronisation. Google may therefore temporarily continue to offer a time that is no longer available.
When a guest attempts to book that time, FRANK checks the availability again. If the slot is no longer available, the reservation is refused and Google asks the guest to select another time. This prevents double bookings.
Which tickets are offered on Google?
Google only displays a shift when:
The shift is active.
Reserve with Google is enabled as a booking channel for the shift.
At least one ticket without a payment requirement is connected to the shift.
Tickets requiring any of the following are not offered through Google:
Deposit
Full prepayment
No-show fee
Each eligible ticket is sent to Google as a separate service. Google does not display the ticket description, price, image or seating duration.
If all tickets on a shift require payment, Google will not display availability for that shift. In that case, add a ticket without a payment requirement or do not use Reserve with Google for that shift.
How do Google reservations appear in FRANK?
A reservation made through Google is immediately accepted in FRANK.

Changing or cancelling reservations
Changes made by the guest through Google
Guests can manage their reservation through Google’s reservation page or emails.
Guests can:
Cancel the reservation
Change the start time
Change the party size
When a guest requests a change, FRANK immediately checks whether enough availability exists at the new time. If no suitable slot is available, the original reservation remains unchanged.
When the guest cancels through Google, the reservation is also cancelled in FRANK and the table is released.
Please note that your cancellation deadline in FRANK is not applied. Google may allow the guest to cancel the reservation at any time.
Changes to the guest’s name, phone number or email address made through Google are not applied in FRANK.
Changes made by the restaurant in FRANK
You can manage a Google reservation in FRANK like any other reservation. You can:
Edit it
Move it
Cancel it
Mark it as a no-show
Changes to the status, time and party size are sent to Google within seconds.
Changes to the guest’s name, phone number or email address are not synchronised with Google.
Google reminders
Google sends its own reminders to guests and may ask them to reconfirm their reservation.
These emails are sent by Google. They cannot be disabled or edited through FRANK.
Disable Reserve with Google
For the entire restaurant
Go to: Manage → Integrations / Apps → Reserve with Google → Disable
This also removes the Google booking channel from all shifts.
FRANK stops sending information during the next nightly synchronisation. Google usually removes the reservation button within one or two days. Existing Google reservations remain in FRANK.
For one shift
Open the relevant shift and disable Reserve with Google under Booking channels.
Other shifts will remain bookable through Google.
FRANK is still visible on Google after being disabled
Open your Google Business Profile and go to: Bookings → Remove provider
It can take several days for Google to remove the provider completely.

If several of these features are important to your restaurant, you can add a direct link to your FRANK widget to your Google Business Profile instead of using Reserve with Google.

Troubleshooting
The button has not appeared after one week
Check the following:
Is the complete address, phone number and website entered in FRANK?
Do the restaurant name and contact details exactly match your Google Business Profile?
Has the Google Place ID been entered in FRANK?
Does at least one active shift have the Reserve with Google channel enabled?
Does that shift have at least one ticket without a payment requirement?
Does your restaurant have its own Google Business Profile?
If you make any changes, allow Google another two to three days to process them.
If the button still does not appear, contact FRANK Support and include the restaurant name and Google Place ID.
The button appears, but Google shows no availability
Check whether:
At least one ticket on the Google-enabled shifts does not require payment
At least one active shift has the Google booking channel enabled
There are available time slots within the next 45 days
The minimum notice and booking window still allow bookable dates
The button may return automatically once eligible availability exists again.
Google shows different times from the FRANK widget
Possible causes include:
Changes made today will only appear after the next nightly synchronisation.
Tickets requiring payment are shown in the widget but not on Google.
The Google booking channel is not enabled on every shift.
The widget has a booking window longer than 45 days.
A time that appears available due to squeeze no longer fits during the live check using the full seating duration.
If guests regularly receive a message saying that a visible time is no longer available, contact FRANK Support and mention that it may involve squeeze availability.
A guest booked through Google, but the reservation is not in FRANK
Search for the reservation using the guest’s email address.
Filter the reservation list by the Reserve with Google channel.
Ask the guest to check their Google confirmation.
If the confirmation shows a different reservation provider, the booking was made through that system and will not appear in FRANK.
Another reservation provider is also displayed
Google can display multiple reservation systems on one Business Profile. This can happen when a previous provider is still connected to the restaurant.
To check this:
Search for your restaurant on Google.
Click Reserve a table.
Review the providers displayed.
You can remove an old provider through:
Google Business Profile → Bookings → Remove provider
You should also ask the provider directly to disconnect the restaurant.
A change made in FRANK is not visible on Google
Changes to an existing reservation normally appear on Google within one minute.
If a change is still not visible after ten minutes, contact FRANK Support and include the reservation number.
