Sometimes you might want to close your restaurant for online bookings for a day or inform guests about special opening hours. With the Day Status pop-up, you can do this in just a few seconds. It lets you quickly block online reservations and add a custom message that guests will see in the widget.
How to Change Your Day Status
Go to your Reservations Overview.
At the bottom, you’ll see a green dot with the label Open.
Click it and choose whether to close your restaurant for one or multiple days.
Set the dates you’ll be closed.
Add a message that guests will see if they try to book on those dates.
Tip! Working with multiple languages? Don't forget to fill in your message for all applicable languages by clicking on the language button.
How to limit the number of guests per area
Want to stay open but limit the number of guests per area? Set an area limit for a specific day.
Click the Open status again in the bottom-right corner.
Select the Area in which you want to make an adjustment.
Adjust the limits under Area Limit with the - and + buttons
For example: set the limit for Restaurant to 20. A maximum of 20 guests can be seated in that area at once. If two guests leave, two spots automatically become available again.
👉 Note: this works differently from your regular limits set in Settings or Shifts. The area limit only applies to the selected day and updates in real time.
Tip! Use the Day Status not just to close bookings, but also to share friendly messages with your guests — for example, to announce special hours or unique events.
