How to limit the number of guests per time slot

Want to smooth out peak hours and spread reservations more evenly? With FRANK, you can easily set a maximum number of guests or reservations per time slot. This helps you control the day’s flow, reduce pressure in the kitchen and on the floor, and create a more relaxed experience for your guests.

How to set a maximum number of reservations per time slot

  1. Go to Manage → Setup.

  2. Choose the maximum number of reservations per 15 minutes.

  3. Optionally, adjust these additional settings:

    • Reservation change window → how long before the reservation a guest can make changes.

    • Reservation cancellation window → how long before the reservation a guest can cancel.

  4. These settings apply to your entire restaurant.

How to set a maximum number of guests per time slot

In addition to setting a maximum number of reservations per time slot you can also set a maximum number of guests.

  1. Go to Manage → Shifts.

  2. Click on Staggering (Spreiding) at the top.

  3. Click on + Staggering (+Spreiding) to add a new rule.

  4. In the pop-up that appears, set the number of guests and/or reservations for each time slot by using the - and + buttons.

  5. In the Repeat tab, set how you want to repeat these rules. You can choose to set it for a specific date only, or repeat it on a monthly basis.


Tip! Use lower limits during busy shifts to keep service balanced, and higher limits during quieter periods to help fill the room.
