Exporting EarthRover Logs (for Support)

Updated over a week ago

Logs help our team understand what went wrong. To be useful, logs must be exported while the problem is happening or immediately after it happens (before rebooting or powering off).

⚠️ Do not restart or shut down the bot until after you’ve saved the logs. If the bot is rebooted first, the relevant data may be lost.

Steps

  1. Connect to the robot’s Wi-Fi

    • On your phone, open Wi-Fi settings and connect to frodobots_xx.

    • Password: 12345678.

  2. Open the robot’s web panel

    • Open your mobile browser and go to http://192.168.11.1.

  3. Open the diagnostics menu

    • Tap the ☰ (three-line) menu in the upper-left.

    • Tap Diagnosis.

  4. Export the logs

    • On the Diagnosis page, tap Export.

    • Wait for the export to complete, then download the log file to your phone.

  5. Send the file to Support

    • After downloading the log file:

      1. Upload it to a file-sharing service (Google Drive, Dropbox, or WeTransfer).

      2. Make sure the link is set to Anyone with the link can view/download.

      3. Email the link to hello@frodobots.com along with:

      • Your bot's 3-word code (e.g., Warp Aloe Map)

      • The issue description

Don’t see Export or the interface looks different?

If you can’t find the Export option or the web panel looks different, your robot likely has an older firmware version.

How to request a firmware update

  1. Contact Support at hello@frodobots.com (or via the chat widget/Discord).

  2. We’ll ask you to turn on your bot at an agreed-upon scheduled time.

  3. Our team will update the firmware remotely and confirm when it’s complete.

  4. After the update, revisit http://192.168.11.1 → Diagnosis → Export.

Troubleshooting

  • Can’t open 192.168.11.1

    • Confirm you’re connected to the frodobots Wi-Fi.

    • Turn mobile data off temporarily and retry.

    • Try another browser (Chrome/Edge) and ensure you typed http://192.168.11.1 exactly.

  • Wi-Fi won’t connect

    • Move closer to the robot (within ~2–3 meters).

    • Re-enter the password 12345678 and try again.

    • Power-cycle the robot, then reconnect.

  • Export stuck or fails

    • Refresh the page and retry Diagnosis → Export.

    • Reboot the robot and repeat the steps.
