How to Find RoboCap 3-Word Code and Device ID

Each RoboCap has two identifiers you may need when using RoboCap or contacting support:

  • 3-word code – Example: Bolts Green Damp

  • 16-character device ID – Example: b355b9d30f38e318

Follow the steps below to find each one.

Find Your RoboCap 3-Word Code

Your 3-word code is printed directly on the RoboCap.

  1. Locate the cap buckle, where the Power Switch is located.

  2. Look for the 3-word code printed on the buckle.

The code consists of three words, for example: Bolts Green Damp

Find Your RoboCap 16-Character Device ID

The 16-character device ID can be found from the RoboCap's files when connected to a computer.

Step 1: Connect RoboCap to Your Computer

  1. Keep RoboCap powered on and connected to a power bank.

  2. Connect a USB-C data cable to the USB-C port at the front end of the central axis of the visor.

  3. Connect the other end of the cable to your computer.

  4. Wait 3–5 seconds. RoboCap should appear as a removable drive on your computer.

Step 2: Check the Session Folder

Open the RoboCap drive.

You'll see folders with names similar to:

b355b9d30f38e318_session_6

b355b9d30f38e318_session_7

The first 16 characters of the folder name are your RoboCap device ID.

For example:

b355b9d30f38e318_session_6

Your device ID is:

b355b9d30f38e318

The _session_# portion is the recording session number and is not part of your device ID.
