How to Remove or Add a RoboWrist on RoboCap

Use the RoboCap Control Center to remove a RoboWrist currently connected to your RoboCap. You can also use it to connect a new RoboWrist or add one back after removing it.

Before You Start

Make sure:

  • RoboCap is powered on and connected to a power bank

  • You have a computer or laptop

  • You know the device ID of each RoboWrist

Each RoboWrist has its own device ID. You need to know which ID belongs to each RoboWrist so you can remove or add the correct device.

If you have both a left and right RoboWrist, identify the device ID for each one before continuing.

Not sure where to find it? Follow our How to Find Your RoboWrist Device ID guide.

⚠️ Important: Make sure you know which device ID belongs to each RoboWrist before removing a device. This prevents you from accidentally removing the wrong RoboWrist.

Step 1: Connect to the RoboCap Wi-Fi

On your computer or laptop:

  1. Open your Wi-Fi settings.

  2. Find the wireless network starting with Robocap_.

    For example: Robocap_2cf

  3. Connect using the default password: 12345678

Note: Your computer must be connected to the RoboCap Wi-Fi to access the RoboCap Control Center.

Step 2: Open the RoboCap Control Center

  1. Open a browser.

  2. Go to 192.168.11.1.

  3. Enter 192.168.11.1 in the RoboCap IP Address field.

  4. Click Connect MQTT.

  5. Wait for Connection Status to change from Disconnected to Connected.

Do not continue until the status shows Connected.

Once connected, open the Device Bind tab.

Step 3: Remove a RoboWrist

In the Device Bind tab:

  1. Find the device ID of the RoboWrist you want to remove.

  2. Confirm that the device ID matches the RoboWrist you intend to remove.

  3. Click Remove next to that device.

The RoboWrist will be removed from the device list and will no longer be bound to that RoboCap.

If you want to remove the other RoboWrist as well, repeat these steps using its device ID.

Add a RoboWrist

If you want to connect a new RoboWrist or add one back after removing it, you can do so from the same Device Bind tab.

Before continuing, make sure you have the device ID of the RoboWrist you want to add.

  1. Locate the Add Device ID field.

  2. Enter the RoboWrist device ID.

  3. Click Add.

  4. Once successfully added, the device ID will appear in the device list.

  5. Turn on the RoboWrist by pressing and holding the left red button.

  6. Wait for the RoboWrist to connect to RoboCap.

When the device icon turns green, the RoboWrist is successfully connected.

If you need to add both the left and right RoboWrist, repeat these steps using the device ID for each device.
