How to Factory Reset RoboCap Using the App

You can restore RoboCap to its factory settings directly through the RoboCap Android app. Support for iOS is coming soon.

Important: A factory reset will:

  • Permanently delete all recordings stored on RoboCap.

  • Unpair all connected RoboWrists.

  • Reset Wi-Fi, camera, and recording settings.

  • Keep encryption enabled if it was previously enabled.

  • Restart RoboCap after the reset.

Make sure to back up any recordings you want to keep before proceeding.

Step 1: Connect to RoboCap

  1. Connect RoboCap to its power bank and turn it on.

  2. Open the RoboCap app.

  3. On the device selection screen, tap RoboCap.

  4. Connect your phone to RoboCap's Wi-Fi network (Robocap_xxx).

  5. Return to the app and wait for it to connect.

Note: If your phone is already connected to RoboCap's Wi-Fi, the app will connect automatically when you select RoboCap.

Step 2: Open Factory Reset Settings

  1. Tap More at the bottom of the app.

  2. Select Format and Reset Settings.

  3. Tap Restore factory settings.

Step 3: Confirm Factory Reset

  1. Review the warning about data deletion and settings changes.

  2. Type RESET in the confirmation field.

  3. Tap Confirm to begin the factory reset.

Important: Keep RoboCap powered on throughout the process. Do not disconnect or turn off the device while resetting.

Step 4: Wait for the Reset to Complete

  1. Wait a few minutes for the factory reset to finish.

  2. RoboCap will restart automatically.

  3. Wait for RoboCap to finish restarting before reconnecting through the app.

Once completed, RoboCap's settings will be restored to factory defaults, except for encryption if it was previously enabled.

You'll need to pair your RoboWrists again and reconfigure any custom settings.
