How can guests check-in for walk-up?

Walk-Up Orders are created when a guest arrives without an appointment, on foot or as part of a drive-up pantry.

How to Set-Up Walk-In Access for Your Pantry

Walk-up orders are generate when a guest arrives at your pantry without an appointment. This is the most common type of order at food pantries across the country. Typically, walk-ups include a guest filling out some basic paperwork, which is later transcribed into a data system. Using Full, all of your paperwork is digitize.

πŸ’‘ Note: A guest does not need a phone or device to check-in. Full enables administrators to check-in guests for walk-up service.

Step 1: Configure Your Walk-Up Hours

First, you'll need to Enable Walk-Up and Set Your Hours.

  1. Go to your Pantry Administrator Page. The easiest way to find this is to locate yourself on the Food Finder, then click the menu in the top left of the screen. Log into your Admin Account and click 'Admin Dashboard'.

  2. Navigate to the Walk-Up Details page

  3. Click the Blue Pencil in the Walk-Up Details section. Toggle 'Do you offer walkup?' to Yes, and click Save.

  4. Click the Blue Pencil in the Walk-Up Hours section. Toggle the days and times you will allow for Walk-Up.

    1. Note: You cannot check-in guest for walk-ups outside of your scheduled times. It's suggested you allow for Walk-Ups to check-in before service and allow for Walk-Ups to check-in as late as possible. For example, if you typically provide service from 12pm-1:30pm on Tuesday, consider allowing people to check-in as early as 11:30am and as late as 2pm.

Step 2: Allow Guests to Check Themselves In

To allow guests to check themselves in, download the QR Code Sign by clicking the 'Download Walk-Up Sign' button on the Walk-Up Details page. This includes a QR code that guests can point their phone's camera at to open a link - just like at a restaurant!

You can also share the URL with guests. Your walk-up URL is your Full link, with "/walkup" at the end. For example:

Guests will see your standard check-in process, and be asked any questions you had Toggled On in the Data Collection section under your Pantry Settings page.

Note: Guests will only be able to check-in during the hours you have listed in your Walk-Up Hours sections in the admin panel.

Step 3: Check Guests In via the Admin Panel

You can also check guests in as an administrator.

  1. Navigate to the Walk-Up Details page and click 'Create Walk-Up Order'.

  2. Choose the Guest from the list of registered Households, or Check them in as a New Guest

  3. Complete all required fields and click Submit Order

Note: Admins will only be able to check-in during the hours you have listed in your Walk-Up Hours sections in the admin panel.

Step 4: See Today's Walk-Up Orders

After an Administrator checks a Guest in, you will see a confirmation page with several options, including Place Order for New Guest, View Order, and View All Orders.

Important Note: To the right of the Guest's Name, you will see a Number (#) field. This denotes the number of visits a Household has registered in the last 30 days. This is only available for Registered Household - you must select a Registered Household from your User List to associate the Order with the Household.

As both Guests and Administrators check-in, Orders will Populate under the Orders Page. You can click 'Today's Walk-Ups' to quickly see all check-in's for the day.
