Steps for this integration are listed below
1. Create an Integration System User
It’s recommended that the organization creates an Integration System User within Workday. The Integration System User will authorize the Gable API client and control the permissions.
If you’ve finished the setup, and everything works as expected but fields are missing from the employee, ensure that the user created has access to access to the fields.
2. Create a Security Group
Create a new security group in Workday. Set the Type of Tenanted Security Group to Integration System Security Group (Unconstrained). Then add a name for the Security Group and select OK.
Next, for Integration System Users, add the integration system user you created in the previous step, and select OK.
3. Add domain security policies to the Security Group
Next, you’ll need to add domain security policies to the newly created security group. You can access this on the Security Group Settings → Maintain Domain Permissions for Security Group page.
You’ll need to permit the following domain security policies to have “Get” access under Integration Permissions:
Person Data: Work Contact Information
Workday Accounts
Worker Data: Active and Terminated Workers
Worker Data: All Positions
Worker Data: Business Title on Worker Profile
Worker Data: Current Staffing Information
Worker Data: Public Worker Reports
Worker Data: Workers
To activate these new security settings, you need to go to the Activate Pending Security Policy Changes page and click OK.
Then, select the Confirm checkbox to finish activating.
4. Create API Client
Go to Register API Client
Enter the following details and click OK
Client Grant Type: Authorization Code Grant
Access Token Type: Bearer
Redirection URI: https://api.gable.to/workday/callback
Scope (Functional Areas): System
Copy the following details, and paste them on the Gable platform
5. Authorize Gable
In Gable platform go to: Company admin > Settings > Integration > Workday > Connect
Enter the API Client details and click Authorize
Login with the created Integration System User in the popup window
Click Allow to authorize the API Client
6. Department and additional attributes
The report data source Gable pulls from called "All Active Employees Data"
The default field to be mapped as department called "Supervisory Organization"
You can provide any other field from this data source to be mapped as the department or added as a custom attribute for each employee.
For changing the field or adding a custom attribute, please provide the WQL alias to our support team
