What Grade Group Serving Sizes Are
A single recipe can have different serving sizes for different grade groups (for example, a smaller portion for K-5 and a larger portion for 9-12). Gaia calculates nutrition and meal pattern credits separately for each grade group, and recalculates the yield for each one based on its serving size.
Adding a Grade Group Serving Size
Open the recipe in the Pantry.
Open the Nutrition tab.
In the Nutrition Facts section, locate the grade group tabs above the values.
Select the grade group whose serving size you want to set.
Enter the serving size for that grade group.
Publish the recipe.
How Calculations Change Per Grade Group
Nutrition facts are prorated for each serving size.
Meal pattern credits are calculated independently for each grade group using USDA rounding rules.
Yield is recalculated for each grade group based on its serving size.
Compliance Check
Click a grade group tab under Nutrition Facts to see the prorated values and compliance status for that grade group. Compliance is evaluated separately for each grade group, so a recipe can be compliant for one grade group and not another.
