This will be a quick overview of how to use the sync and unsync locations tool in Genie.

Sometimes you need to sell from multiple locations, whether it's a pop-up, an event, or what have you. Having multiple locations synced to your Genie instance can sometimes muddy your insights and make it difficult to get full transparency into your inventory.

Below you can see there are multiple locations, and most of them do not have stock and the couple that do, aren't relevant to the analytics.

So, for instances like this, we have introduced the ability to sync and unsync locations from Genie. What does this mean? This means that if you had a pop-up sale and had to allot stock to it effectively adding another location to the pool, it doesn't have to be a permanent resident in your account.

In just a couple clicks you can remove the location and the products associated with it from your instance, and it will no longer affect analytics and on-hand values.

Step 1: Navigate to your locations, under the settings tab.

Step 2: Identify the location you want to unsync, select the 3 dots, and click unsync. This will remove the location from your inventory table and any products that are associated with it.

In this example, if we go through and unsync all of these locations except 1 we will see a more accurate representation of our stock levels on the inventory table. Below you can see the view before we unsynced the locations (left) and after (right). This provides a more accurate representation of your inventory and cleans up the view.

Alternatively, if you want to resync a location you can do so by selecting the same 3 dots on the unsynced locations and clicking sync. This will reintroduce the location and whatever products are associated with it.

There you have it. You can sync and unsync locations from Genie in as little as 4 clicks, tidying up your view and refocusing your insights.
