How to Manually Sync Your Shopify Data in Genie

Learn how to quickly update your inventory data within Genie.

Genie relies on updated and accurate Shopify data in order to provide you with real-time and accurate insights into performance and health.

However, Genie may not always update after a change has been made in Shopify or you may have just updated your data and want to ensure it is reflected within Genie. In both instances, knowing how to manually sync your data is helpful.

This is a super simple process and can be completed in just a couple of steps.

Manually syncing data

We've built Genie to be intuitive to use and provide all of the information you need to make well-informed decisions. To this extent, we've made it very easy for you to sync your data so you always know what is going on.

Now, anytime you are on your Dashboard, or Inventory Table you can see a status displaying when your data was last updated. On both pages, the status can be found in the top right corner of the page as you can see below.

In most cases, Genie will auto-sync 1-2 times per day so your data isn't too out-of-date. But, as we said above manual syncs will ensure you have the most up-to-date information, this includes any changes you made before the sync.

To perform a manual sync you only have to do 2 things.

Step 1: Navigate to Settings. You'll want to stay on the General tab.

Step 2: Under the Shopify Store Data section you'll select the Refresh button.

Note: Manual data syncs can take up to 3 minutes to refresh, so don't worry if it seems like it is taking a long time.

This will sync all of your current Shopify data. Now when you navigate back to the Inventory Table or Dashboard you will see a new "Last updated" status meaning it was successful.

And that's all there is to it. Super simple and easy.
