How Genie Syncs with Shopify?

We will help you understand how we fetch the information from Shopify.

At Genie, we strive to ensure your data remains accurate and up-to-date. Currently, our integration with Shopify operates as follows:

  1. Initial Data Fetch: When installing our app, we automatically fetch and sync your Shopify data.

  2. Daily Updates: We update your data every 24 hours to keep it current.

  3. Manual Fetch: If you need the most recent data immediately, you can use the "Fetch" button in the app to sync your data on demand.

So, if you do not see any changes immediately after updating your products, it's because they haven't been synced with the Genie app yet. They will be synced at a scheduled time, or you can manually sync them to see the immediate effect!

Orders fetch: The above applies to the product data, but Genie also fetches your order data for our sales report and forecasting features. We pull daily sales data exclusively for orders with the statuses PAID or PARTIALLY_REFUNDED. Draft orders are not included in this sync as they are considered to be incomplete transactions. Consequently, Genie focuses solely on finalised transactions for our daily sales reports.

We understand that the current process may not be perfect for everyone. That's why we're excited to announce that we're working on an enhanced method that will provide instant updates, eliminating the need for manual fetching.
