Today we will explore the new and highly requested feature that allows you to push incoming received units to Shopify—it's been a long time coming!

The first thing you need to know is that this feature is optional and gives you the choice to push or not to push the quantities to Shopify for each PO. This is to give you the flexibility to update on your terms rather than having Genie do it automatically.

Note: You must accept the updated permissions to access this feature.

Overview:

Our new feature is very simple and only applies to received shipments. Upon receiving the incoming inventory brands must use the Shipments feature of the PO to assign units or mark units as received.

It is important to remember that when updating your PO after an order has arrived the PO status does not affect the shipments. You will have to update the shipments independently in order for the units to be pushed to Shopify.

How does it work?

The very first step in this process is ensuring you have a PO created and the units have been received.

Step 1: Updating Purchase Order Status

After entering all the details, change the status from 'sent to supplier' to either 'partially received' or 'fully received', depending on the quantity received. This can be done from within the PO or from the PO tab.

Note that there is no undo button, so make sure that the PO you the units pushed to Shopify for is the one that has arrived at your warehouse.

Step 4: Managing Shipments

Navigate to the 'shipments' tab within the PO to manage the shipments and units. This is where the magic happens.

Step 5: Click 'manage'. Here, you will be able to view and adjust the shipments assigned to this order.

If your order has only partially arrived, you will need to create an additional shipment and assign the 'Received' units to that shipment.

Step 7: Receiving Shipments

Once all adjustments have been made and when you are ready to mark the shipment as received, click 'received' under the appropriate shipment on the right side.

Step 8: This will prompt a pop-up to appear for you to select the shipment to receive. Select the appropriate shipment.

Step 9: Confirm the receipt date and click 'select'.

Step 10: Updating Shopify Inventory

Now, you want to select 'Receive' at the top right of the page.

Step 11: This will prompt a new pop-up to show and give you the option to update the on-hand amount in Shopify, or NOT update the amounts in Shopify. Select the one that best fits your needs.

Note: If you have not accepted the additional permissions, you must do so in to push these updated amounts to Shopify.

Step 19: Checking Updated Inventory

Once the process is complete, the updated on-hand amounts will be visible on the inventory table.
