My sequence tasks are showing as "Pending" — why aren't they running?

Tasks showing as "Pending" in a LinkedIn sequence can mean they are simply queued and waiting, or that something is blocking execution. Here is how to tell the difference and what to do.

You've created a LinkedIn sequence and launched the campaign, but the Tasks section shows all tasks as Pending with no activity. Here is what "Pending" means and why tasks may not be progressing.

What "Pending" actually means

"Pending" means the task has been scheduled and queued, but not yet executed. This is normal for tasks that are waiting for:

  • The scheduled send time to arrive (GetReplies sends during business hours only).

  • A prior step in the sequence to complete first (e.g. Step 2 cannot start until Step 1 is done).

  • The delay between steps to elapse (e.g. waiting 3 days after Step 1 before sending Step 2).

If your campaign was just launched, tasks being Pending is expected — they will execute progressively throughout the day and following days.

Tasks have been Pending for more than 24 hours — possible causes

1. Your LinkedIn account got disconnected

This is the most common cause of tasks being stuck on Pending for LinkedIn sequences. LinkedIn sometimes logs out connected accounts in the background.

Fix: Go to Accounts → click your LinkedIn account. If it shows as disconnected or has an error, reconnect it. Tasks will resume once the account is active again.

2. The campaign is paused

Check the campaign header for a Paused status indicator. If it is paused, click Resume to let tasks execute.

3. The sequence was edited but not re-saved after launch

If you edited the sequence after launching the campaign but did not re-save it, the system may be in an inconsistent state. Open the Sequence tab, verify the steps are correct, and click Save again.

4. Daily LinkedIn send limit reached

LinkedIn enforces daily limits on connection requests and messages. If your configured daily limit has been reached for the day, remaining tasks will stay Pending and execute the following business day.

Check your LinkedIn account settings in GetReplies to see your configured daily limit and how many have been sent today.

LinkedIn tasks only run during business hours

GetReplies executes LinkedIn tasks during configured business hours to mimic natural human activity. If you are checking the Tasks section outside of business hours, tasks will be Pending until the next business day window opens.

When to contact support

Contact support if:

  • Tasks have been Pending for more than 48 hours despite your LinkedIn account appearing connected.

  • The campaign shows as active but zero tasks have executed since launch.

Share your campaign URL when you reach out so the team can inspect the task queue directly.
