What do the different prospect statuses mean

What do the different prospect statuses mean?

Prospect statuses in Spear fall into two categories: Suggestion Statuses and Funnel Statuses. Each category reflects a different stage in the prospect journey.

  • Suggestion statuses indicate how a prospect was handled during the review phase, before entering the outreach process.

  • Funnel statuses show the prospect's progress once outreach actions begin.

Suggestion Statuses: Where can I see them?

1. Open the Dashboard

2. Select the "Prospects" tab

Suggestion Status Definitions

1. Approved

The prospect was marked as suitable to move into outreach. This confirms they fit the campaign criteria and immediately queues them to enter the active sequence.

2. Denied

The prospect was marked as not suitable and excluded from outreach. No messages will be sent to this individual.

3. Monitored

The prospect fits your ICP, but the trigger isn't right at this moment. The system will re-suggest them when a more relevant signal is found.

4. Archived

Removed from your main view without being deleted. They stay saved in the system but will not receive any messages while in this state.

Funnel Statuses

Once a prospect is approved, they move through the outreach funnel in this order:

In Queue → Connection Request → Connected → Replied → Interested → Pending Booked → Booked

  • In Queue — Approved and waiting for the connection request to be sent.

  • Connection Request — The connection request has been sent.

  • Connected — The prospect accepted the connection request.

  • Replied — The prospect responded to a message.

  • Interested — A positive response was detected.

  • Pending Booked — The prospect agreed to meet, but the meeting hasn't been confirmed yet in the system. Set automatically when Spear detects meeting intent, or manually from the status dropdown.

  • Booked — A meeting has been scheduled and confirmed.

You can also track funnel progress from the Campaigns tab. Each campaign shows two key numbers:

  • Approved — all prospects that were approved

  • Contacted — prospects for whom outreach has already started

Prospects shown as In Queue are the difference between these two numbers.
