Once your client's Fact Find has been completed, you'll need to check the details they have entered to ensure everything is correct.

In this article you will learn:

  • The Opportunity Summary

  • Reviewing Fact Find Sections

  • Missing information & Edits

  • Checking Off each page to progress

  • Next Steps

Opportunity Summary

The Opportunity Summary is an overview of the client's application. Information in this section will only ever be seen by you and your team - it will not be included in an application, or be visible to the client.Β

Similarly to the Opportunity Summary, the Client Interview section will also only be visible to you and your team πŸ‘ You may use this area to keep any notes on your client's situation to refer back to if needed. More on this here!

Reviewing Fact Find Sections

The Fact Find sections highlight your client’s current 'Position'. This will usually be filled out by the client, but can also be filled out by you.

If your client has completed this, you will need to review it section by section, as this information may be included as part of your application, or be relevant to your advice.

Within the Advice Opportunity you can add further details or edit your client's Fact Find information:

Some sections of the application editor contain tiles

Clicking on a tile will cause a modal to pop up so you can check everything is correct and add or make edits if needed:

You'll need to make sure there is a "tick" on the top right corner of the tile which signals all necessary fields are filled πŸ‘

Sending re-worked Fact Find copy to client

If you do find you have missing information, you may need to contact your client, discuss and correct the information in Trail πŸ‘

In these situations where the client's original Fact Find has been updated with further or new inforamtion, you can make use of this set of buttons - the Download & Email buttons to:

  • Download the Fact Find sections (as a PDF) as they currently are and/or

  • Email the Fact Find sections as they currently are to the client (PDF already attached to email template).

This means you can communicate to the client what you have on hand about them whenever you need to, for client reviewing and/ or to prompt a written emailed confirmation from your client the information is correct! πŸ‘

Checking Off!

This is a necessary step to progress - once you have confirmed the underlying information in a section (e.g. "Assets & Liabilities") is correct, make sure to click the grey circle of the section to make it turn green as a 'check off'! βœ…

We consider it best practice to ensure that all sections are checked green before considering an application to be complete.

Progress to Advice

For Mortgages, Insurance and other advice types, you will need all the Fact Find sections to be checked off before progressing - whether it's to download an application to lender, or to generate an SOA! πŸ‘

  • If the information in the section is not complete and you try to tick it off, the software will show you what is missing by highlighting it orange 🍊

  • If you or someone else edits this information, the box will automatically untick for you to re-check βœ…

Next Steps!

Getting the Fact Find completed, checking these off and managing your disclosures after the information gathering - after all this you're ready for analyzing and evaluating your client's position to give advice!

Have a look at the next part of the Advice Process folder for the collection of articles that help with this πŸ‘
