How to test my flow?

Easily test your flows before launching them on WAX

Updated this week

🤔 What is a WAX test?

The WAX test allows you to view the final result of your flow before it goes live. It gives you the opportunity to test the conversation directly on WhatsApp, so you can anticipate the user experience and make any necessary adjustments.

Before sending your flow or campaign to your customers, it's important to check that they are working properly 👌🏻 Here are a few simple steps to test them on your Flow Builder👇

Why test a flow?

Testing is an essential step in order to:

  • View the conversation on a smartphone in real-life conditions.

  • Ensure there are no errors and guarantee optimal fluidity.

Who can take a test?

Anyone with access to a WAX account can perform a test.

⚙️ How to test a flow?

Before performing a test, the templates used in the flow must be approved by META. To do this, simply click on “Submit” after creating or modifying a template.

Once the templates have been approved, there are several methods for running a test:

1. The “Test” button (bottom left)

This option allows you to test the entire flow from the beginning. You can:

  • Skip wait times.

  • Skip the initial trigger (a checkbox allows you to customize the elements skipped during the test).

2. Test from a specific message or template

To do this, simply click on the three small dots next to the message in question, then select “Start from this node.” This option allows you to start the test from a specific point, such as the second or third message in the flow.

💡 Practical information: Specific details of the test

When testing a flow while skipping wait times, META will send the lightest messages first (e.g., those without images or videos). This means that messages may be received in a different order than expected. ✅ Solution: To avoid this disorder, it is recommended to reduce wait times (e.g., change a 30-minute “Wait” to 5 seconds), without removing them entirely.
