How to Send a Test for a Klaviyo Webhook?

Tutorial to Test a WAX Flow from a Klaviyo Webhook Trigger

Updated over 4 months ago

1. Perform the Test Action on Your Site

Before testing the webhook, you need to perform the action that will trigger the webhook.

In this example, the action we are testing is a Checkout Abandonment flow.

  • Go to your website and perform a checkout abandonment with your profile. This means you need to add a product to your cart and then abandon it to simulate the abandoned checkout event.

2. Access the Webhook in Klaviyo

Once you’ve completed the action on your site, you can test the webhook.

  • Go to the Klaviyo flow in which you have set up the webhook.

  • Click on the webhook within your flow to open it.

  • Click on "Preview" to preview the webhook test.

3. Select the Test Profile

Next, you need to select the profile where you performed the checkout abandonment action.

  • Search for the profile where you performed the checkout abandonment test.

  • Once you find it, select it for the test.

4. Send the Test

After selecting the profile, click on "Send Test" to send a test of the webhook.

5. Data Propagation Time

Note that it can take up to 15 minutes for data to sync between Klaviyo and your website.

  • Wait 15 minutes to ensure Klaviyo has properly registered the action from your site.

  • After this delay, you can send the test to verify everything is working correctly.

6. Check the Preview on Your Phone

When you send a test, you will receive a preview of the WAX flow on your phone.

👀 Note: If the flow is not live yet, this preview will not be directly linked to a live WAX flow.

This will allow you to visually verify that everything is correct before going live with your flow.
