How to manage an opt-out from a contact?

Updated over 3 weeks ago

The ways a contact can opt-out

There are 4 ways for a contact to opt-out :

1/ The contact clicks on a opt-out button on a quick reply

2/ The contact sends "Stop" in the chat

3/ The contact deactivates the Offers and Announcements

4/ The AI detects that a contact wants to opt out

We highly recommend enabling this feature in WAX (Settings > WhatsApp Settings > Opt Out).

It automatically unsubscribes a contact if our AI detects that they do not wish to receive communications via WhatsApp.

This feature enhances the customer experience, helps prevent a drop in your quality score, and reduces your support workload by automatically unsubscribing contacts.

What can you do after a contact opts out?

Once a customer has opted out, they can receive only a single Reply-type message. You can use this message to leave a positive final impression with your contact.

To configure what happens after a contact opts out, go to your WAX account: Settings > WhatsApp Settings > Opt Out.

There, you will find a customizable flow that you can modify to suit your needs.

This flow will be automatically sent each time a contact chooses to opt out.

All contacts who are opted out in WAX are automatically excluded from automations and campaigns, even if they are part of a segment or list.

A person who has opted out of WhatsApp is not opted out of your email or SMS communications.
