How do I trigger WAX automations from Yotpo Loyalty events?

Trigger your WhatsApp automations from your Yotpo loyalty program events.

Automatically send the right message at the right time to your loyalty members: points earned, referral completed, birthday, points reminder… Your Yotpo loyalty program events are available directly as triggers in your WAX automations.

Before you start: what you need to know

Step 1️⃣: Create an automation and choose Yotpo Loyalty

  1. Create a new automation.

  2. When choosing the trigger, click Yotpo Loyalty.

Step 2️⃣: Choose the trigger event

Select the Yotpo event that will bring your contacts into the automation.

Available events

  • Referral Completed (referrer): a customer refers a friend who meets the referral program's conditions. The message is sent to the referrer.

  • Referral Completed (referred): same event, but the message is sent to the referred friend.

  • Customer Birthday: on the customer's birthday.

  • Loyalty Opt In / Out: a customer joins or leaves the loyalty program.

  • Points Earned: every time a customer earns points.

  • Points Reminder: after a set number of days of inactivity, when a customer hasn't used their points.

  • Points Expiration Reminder: when a customer's points are about to expire.

  • Redemption Reminder: after a set number of days of inactivity, when a customer has enough points to get a reward.

  • Tier reached: when a customer reaches a new tier of the loyalty program.

Step 3️⃣: Build your flow with Yotpo data

Then build your flow as usual. The data Yotpo sends with the event (for example the points cost of a reward, or the number of points still needed to get it) are available as variables: use them to personalize your messages or in a Condition block, through Trigger property name.

💡 Example: with Redemption Reminder, add a condition on yotpo_customer_points_needed to send a different message depending on how many points the customer still needs for their reward.

Tips

  • One event, one automation: create a dedicated automation for each event to keep your messages clear and measure their performance separately.

  • Referrals: combine both Referral Completed events to thank the referrer and welcome the referred friend.

  • Test before turning it on: trigger the event on your own customer account (for example by earning points) and check that you receive the message.
