What is an MCP?
You can now connect WAX to your AI assistant: Claude, ChatGPT or Claude Code. Once connected, you ask it questions as you would a colleague, and it looks up the answers directly in your WAX account.
This connection relies on MCP (Model Context Protocol), a standard that lets AI assistants plug into tools like WAX. Nothing technical on your side: you simply sign in with your usual WAX credentials.
What can our MCP do?
Analyze your results in seconds: "How many orders did my abandoned cart automation generate last month?", "Compare my September and October campaigns".
Create or edit an automation by describing it: "Create a welcome automation that sends a 10% discount code to new subscribers".
Prepare your reports: ask for a summary, a table or a chart ready to share.
Follow several brands in the same conversation, if your account has access to several organizations.
Good to know: the assistant never sends messages to your customers and cannot activate an automation. Everything it creates or edits is saved inactive: you review it and activate it yourself in WAX. It can also submit an automation's new templates to Meta for review.
How to set it up?
Step 1: copy the WAX server address
In WAX, go to Settings › Personal settings, Connected apps section, and copy the address: https://api.getwax.io/mcp
Step 2: add WAX to your assistant
Claude (web, desktop, mobile)
Open Settings › Connectors, then Add custom connector.
Name: WAX. URL: paste the address you copied. Confirm, then click Connect.
On a Claude Team or Enterprise plan, a workspace owner must first add the connector for the team.
ChatGPT
In the settings, turn on developer mode (advanced settings of apps / connectors).
Create a new connector, name it WAX, paste the address you copied and choose OAuth authentication.
This option depends on your ChatGPT plan and the menus change often: when in doubt, check OpenAI's help center.
Claude Code (for technical profiles)
In your terminal:
claude mcp add --transport http wax https://api.getwax.io/mcpThen, in Claude Code, type
/mcpand pick WAX to sign in.
Step 3: allow access
The assistant opens a WAX page. Sign in (with your two-factor authentication code if asked), check what the assistant will be able to do, then click Allow. You're all set!
To try it, ask for example: "What are my WAX organizations?" or "Which automations are live right now?".
Frequently asked questions
I work in an agency and manage several clients. How does it work?
One connection is enough: the assistant sees every organization your WAX account has access to. Just name the brand in your question ("For brand X, …"). Each person in the agency connects their own WAX account: access stays personal.
What information can the assistant see?
Your analytics (sends, reads, clicks, orders, revenue…) and your automations. It has no access to your contact list or your conversations. It never sees more than your WAX account already does.
Is my data safe?
You share no password: the assistant receives an access you can cut at any time. Note that the information it reads is processed by the assistant's provider (Anthropic for Claude, OpenAI for ChatGPT), under its own terms.
Can the assistant send messages or launch a campaign?
No. It can neither send messages nor activate an automation. It also cannot edit a live automation: deactivate it in WAX first if you want it to rework it.
What if it makes a mistake on an automation?
Nothing goes live without you. You can also go back to a previous version of the automation: see Restore a previous version of an automation.
Can my team see what the assistant did?
Yes. Connections and changes made by the assistant show up in the organization's activity log, under the name of the person who connected it.
How do I disconnect the assistant?
In Settings › Personal settings › Connected apps, click Disconnect next to the app. Access is cut immediately.
Why do I have to sign in again?
For security, a connection lasts 30 days. It is also cut if one of your organizations turns on two-factor authentication. Just sign in again from the assistant.
One of my brands doesn't show up. Why?
If that organization requires two-factor authentication, disconnect and reconnect the assistant: WAX will ask for your code when you sign in. Also check that your WAX account has access to that organization.
Is it available to everyone?
Yes, for every WAX account. On the assistant's side, some features depend on your Claude or ChatGPT plan.
