The Content Library

An overview of the Content Library in Giraffe v6 — the panel for browsing Project, Workspace, Marketplace, and My Content.

Written by Holly Conrad Smith

Build a project faster by pulling in the data, tools, and assumptions you need instead of making them from scratch. The Content Library is where you find layers, apps, flows, usages, blocks, layouts, and more, from your own project, your workspace, or Giraffe's Marketplace.

Open the Content Library

The Content Library is a panel app. Click the + on any panel's tab bar and choose Content Library, or choose Apps > Data > Content Library in the top bar. You can arrange it alongside your other apps like any other panel.

The Content Library opens on the Marketplace tab.

The tabs of the Content Library

Pick a tab in the sidebar to choose where content comes from:

  • Project shows content already in the project you have open.

  • Workspace shows content your organization has shared, including projects and templates.

  • Marketplace shows public content from Giraffe and its partners.

My Content sits at the bottom of the sidebar. It holds the content packs you manage. The My Content in Content Library article explains how to use it.

People with view-only access to a project can still open the Content Library. They don't see My Content, the Projects content type, or the buttons that add, remove, or clean up project content.

Content types in a Space

Inside a Space, the Content Library only shows Layers, Apps, Layouts, Projects, and Templates.

Find content

Every tab has a Content Type list, a search box, and view options. Use the Content Type list to show one kind of content, like Layers or Apps. The Search for Content article covers searching, filtering, and grouping in detail.

Content packs

Most listings in the Content Library are content packs. A pack is a saved bundle of layers, flows, usages, layouts, and more that you can add to a project in one click. The What is a Content Pack? article explains how packs work.
